Wow been looking thru nice photos. I love paint horses showed them years ago. We have a rescue quarter horse now finally got weight on him teeth floated and all his vaccines. Two sets because we don't know if he ever had any. I assume he was at one time on the quarter horse circuit only because he is a old school peanut roller and also he spins like he might have done reining at one time. He is now doing great happy and healthy. And just a tiny bit spoiled. He is learning trust, he's been cowboyed , whoever had him ripped his mouth. I mean bad he has scars inside his mouth. Wondering if instead of a bit I try a hackamore . ? He is the biggest goober but so darn loveable.

Will post pictures later once I get some good ones. We are picking up a quarter horse mare tomorrow for a trial. Shes a cutie pie. Little worried because she is only 5 . But my hubby loves her to death. Going to have our vet while she is here check her out too.

I believe that all horses can be brought around with enough trust building ... Also, of course, as everyone here already knows, doing a lot of ground work and just plain spending a lot of time with the horse as a companion works wonders with an abused horse too.

Wow, what a great thread!

Here are a couple of ours.

This is our APHA colt pictured as a yearling who was NC's Futurity Amateur Stallion last fall (my DH in pic is 6'6"). He is now one massive coming two year old!

This is my daughter's (who is 7) 29 year old APHA mare. Photo taken last fall, this mare still has the drive to want to show. She has the most accomplished show record I have ever seen, very proud to have her as a member of family.

Three more here at home, our 20 year old APHA stallion and two awesome halter broodmares.
