this is Dan, no challenge the best horse I will ever own, barring breaking and spending the next 20 years training another. Dan was a christmas present when I was 14 to my sisters and I. We showed in everything... all three kids in a day lol... English, western, jumping, driving, trail... everything. I no longer show higher leveled because I am busy raising my 4yo and 4 month old

however Dan is now a full time 4h horse for my twins 9yo daughter and many many other children have ridden in in the past few years. he is 21 this year.

me ridding Dan, his favorite speed is stop and eat now so sometimes you really need to push him to get him to pick up his front end and stop dragging his back end around like a bunch of tin cans after a wedding limo.

me and dan again....I think im pregnant in this photo, cant exactly remember when my husband took this one.

me driving Dan, his favorite thing to do, other then chase cows.... he really likes to work cattle. we cant leave him in a pasture even with the dairy cows because if they run he has to chase them down and pin them in the corner... and wont let them move

Dan is awesome, youre lucky to still have him for your kids! My shetland was used for my kids, she was just as bratty and mareish at 30+ as when I had her! we put her down finally at age 45. So cute though!

I am so happy to have him. even though hes a little big for the smaller kids its the training I trust more. Dan has a home till he dies, then hes getting cremated because you cant bury here anymore, not unless you go threw a lot of red tape.

Hi, to answer your question about the polo, I would say yes. Tuck it in and wear a belt. As far as the 18" class, that would be a good beginning level, and more importantly, a learning experience for your horse. The Tipperary vest you saw on ebay is very comfortable and popular with event riders, but I dont use them because they are not safety rated. I read online its because they cannot guarantee concussion protection or even test these because the foam panels bend so much, the way its constructed if you get what I mean.

Good luck on your ride, post pics?
