Show Off Your Horses!

I'm really enjoying this thread, seeing pics of everyone's horses. Thought I'd post a few pics of some of our horses. Erin, I know you've seen a couple of these pics, so I hope I don't bore you. Your guys are looking awesome, by the way! Can't believe the difference in Hutch. It's unbelievable. You must be doing something right.

Keep up the good work. These guys are lucky to have you.

Here are a couple of our Belgian, Fred. We got him when he was 12, and he's 16 now. Hubby is a big guy-6 feet tall, and was looking for a big horse to ride. Fred rides and pulls, and I wish we had 10 more of him. He's a big teddy bear, and riding him is like riding a big ole Cadillac.

And I know she's not wearing a helmet, or shoes for that matter. Please don't bash, she just hopped on for a quick pic with Fred.

Here is Zoe again on Star, a Tennessee Walker. She's a lesson horse she rode for a bit. Zoe started to take an interest in riding this past fall, and has been taking lessons ever since-and we're loving every minute of it.

This is Ladybug, Zoe's horse. She's a 5 year old Quarter Horse. We've only had her for about 3 months, and they're doing very well together.

And last, but not least, is Magic. He's also one of our newer ones. He's 10, and his parents were both Apps. He was given to us by a relative who raised him. She was looking for a good home for him, when she decided to get out of the whole horse thing. He came to us four months ago-a very very pushy boy. Was pretty much a pasture ornament, spent time with a trainer when he was a 2 year old, then almost never ridden. He spent the past 3 months with our trainer, and is a completely different horse. We just got him back home this past weekend. He's learned manners, and is now a joy to ride. It's amazing the difference a good trainer makes.

Hope I didn't overdo it. And hope all of those horse lovers on BYC continue posting pics of your horses. I, for one, love looking at them.

Fred is absolutely beautiful, as is your place. I love the name, what else could he be? Everyone has such well loved animals here, so nice to see.

Beautiful! Love the black stallion!!!

Thanks, he is pretty awesome! He qualified for AQHA World as a 2 yr old and then got injured. He is an own son of Ima Cool Skip and is HYPP N/N , I have a mare here that is bred to him, she is due 2/28 and I am excited to see the foal. He is such a sweetie, goes out with the mares and is a total gentleman. He is quiet and easy going and easy on the eye.....

It is a funny story about Bill...my DH bought him straight out of a six horse hitch pulling a breaking plow on an Amish farm. Picture 6 of these big guys hitched side by side! DH asked what one horses' name was, the guy said 'Big Bill', then asked what the next horses' name was, the guy said 'Little Bill', then asked about a 3rd horse, the guy said 'J. P. Bill'. DH asked what the J.P. stood for...just plain Bill! So DH ended up buying 'Just Plain Bill'! I said anything that massive had to have a more dignified name than just plain Bill, so I renamed him Mr. Bill! He was a trip! I think he may have been a cross with a Percheron or something due to the gray dapples he had on his legs and he had gray streaks in his mane, too. For quite a while whenever I was within arms reach of him, I couldn't take my eyes off those huge feet of his...I was scared to death he was going to step on me! lol
