Yes! You'll always hear stories about my little Winter, she is one special duck and we just love her tremendously <3 Maybe so, definitely let me know when that first egg is laid! What an exciting day that'll be for you & Bean!

This is how Winter is sleeping right now! One legged, with her other tucked up in her feathers, like a little flamingo! How does she balance?! She is so perdy! Does anyone else's baby sleep like this or is it just mine?!

Other than her obvious cuteness, her body is perfect. The symmetry. Amazing

Great news, Bean and Wobbles are starting to bond! Wobs is still a typical bully drake and will nip her in the behind as she dashes past sometimes, but all day they've been thick as thieves. She'll walk up to him and start making happy chirps, and he'll squawk right back at her and there they'll stand, inches apart, just making a ruckus!

'Course, this has led to some confusion. Today Wobbles attacked me for the first time in...ever, like he attacks Hils when he's trying to protect me. It only happened once, but still. That's obviously not gonna fly, not in my house. Nope.

It sure is! It's very frustrating and sometimes seems hopeless to try to change the behavior of a territorial drake. I'm glad to hear he's finally coming around!

Wow. Things are changing. Do you think with their slow bonding that he is being protective of her buy attacking you and Hils. I'd love to see video of them yakking back and forth. How do you nip that in the bud? It kinda makes me laugh that two really cute tiny call ducks could conceivably take over your household until you restore the proper order.

We flip Kaine whenever he is misbehaving (breathing). I SWEAR he is getting used to it

. We just reach down and pick him up with fingers pointing down and thumbs across his back then flip him on the way up so that he is laying on our thumbs with his feet up and his head on his belly. This puts him in a good position to listen... It is so funny though. He bicycles for about 6 strokes starting fast then slowing down then does about 6 more very slowly with just his left foot then lays there calmly. Usually it is "don't chase Tevye" or "don't chase Pocahontas" then he gets set down, or "don't attack Tevye" or "don't attack Pocahontas", then he gets put in solitary confinement for a time. He never attacks us, but if we aren't looking he follows us around the yard with his head down in attack mode and when we look he raises his head and wanders off to the left: "I wasn't doing anything..."

Aggressive drakes!

Don't want to re-home him, don't want to send him to freezer camp, but he sure tries our patience. I am hoping by the end of September his hormones settle and we get our sweet boy back.

Ugh, I'm right there with you...not on the rehoming thing, but man, why do drakes have to be such massive jerks? At least Wobbles is tiny so he can't cause any real damage. I just wish he'd behave. Bean hates hands, Wobbles hates feet, between the two am I ever gonna get any peace??

I Know! Someone else used "freezer camp" here on this forum as a euphemism for when they culled their excess drakes and it stuck with me. None of my ducks will ever go there, but the term is great.

Hehe, yeah. Although I feel like a hypocrite giggling at that 'cuz I am getting REAL sick of people "joking" about eating my ducks when they're in my presence. It's like, I don't go up to someone walking their dog and go "nice pooch, bet I could get $10 a pound for 'im at the local Chinese restaurant"
