What?!? Incredulous I am. Then does she web slap off somewhere at a high rate of speed?

LOL web slap! Nah, both bins are by the bed, hers is situated next to me to prevent her from squawking in the middle of the night. She'll catapult over the side, land next to my head and scurry up onto my chest with the biggest look of satisfaction a duck's face can muster! She just looks at me as if to say "Oh hai mom, you put me in a bin away from you. I'm sure it was just an accident but I'm here now!"

We've taken to putting a towel over the bin, but I'm a bit concerned because it's been so danged hot. I don't want her to be trapped in there with no breeze at night to cool her down. But it's either that or poops on the bed and bitten faces, so...

I don't know how to upload videos, so I took screenshots of a video I took of Winter this afternoon. Every other day or so, I'll let her swim in our big pool and she LOVES it. I plopped her in today and started to walk away with my Yorkies calling her name, then out the water she came soarin' for us!

great action shots. It's shocking to see a pet duck fly even tho they are a bird and birds do fly. But to me, they aren't birds per se, they are little cute happy characters we love. Kinda hard to explain. I don't feel that way about wild ducks, just y'alls. How far and high can she go? She sure is cute in flight.

that is the cutest thing ever. Her catapulting and then the look on her face when she lands on your chest and stares you in the eye. She is very intelligent and knows what she wants. I love her.

awe, kukupecpec, you are so sweet yourself.  BYC has been such a wonderful escape for me from the hostilities of life in general.  People on the streets here aren't friendly, they drive too fast, don't say hi on the trails.  It is so weird.  But all of you guys around the US and even some abroad who post on here at times are all gems.  Love how you ended up with sweet ChaCha.  I couldn't ever imagine someone even conversing about committing the unmentionable about her.  She's a wonderful little living being who happens to have webbed feets.

She is definitely get very own person with feathers LOL she might be large, but there's no meat on her anyway! It would have been such a waste of her mischievous personality haha

I think you have to post your video on YouTube, then get the correct embed code from the YouTube page to put into the html bar when you click the "add video" button. It's rather involved lol but your pictures are great! !!

Oh geez! Silly mom, making mistakes =P I can't remember, did you have problems using a crate? ChaCha can't fly, but when she sleeps inside (if she's not roosting on my arm like a crazy duck) she sleeps in a small metal crate. I love it because if I need to hide her from sight I can set the crate in the bathroom or closet and she still has fantastic air flow (here in the 100+ desert lol)

Well...whenever I see a duck I wanna hug and squeeze it, so technically that'd make it pressed duck.

Also I have some news! Today I caught Wobbles bobbing his head AT BEAN! Usually he only displays towards me. She's still too young to reciprocate, but she certainly seems to enjoy the attention anyway. But there's hope that they'll form a pair bond, after all!
