Show off your house ducks!

Hoopoose Butter Loaf is gonna get the snorgle treatment fast. Fat little plump little turnip pancaking butter loafed webbed feeted sassy lump of Wobbles.

You know, the irony is not lost on me that most of my nicknames we have for these cuties are food-related. Butter loaf, turnip, plump dumplings, orange sauce, LOL! But yes, I adore these lil fatty birbs. <3

Jojo is a Pekins. I need to find something to keep him in while I'm at work. He's in the kitchen bc that's my only tile floor and my hubby REFUSES to change duck diapers even though he likes jojo now, he at least feeds and waters him, won't wipe up poo so no diapers no poo. He's on pet pads then but my hubby us complaining about having to yell at my 20 month old to keep out of the kitchen and I get it. A kitchen is not the place for an animal that relieves himself every two seconds. I'm off tomorrow so I'll take pictures. I was reading a thread earlier, you were in it. But it was a dog pen on amazon. I loved it, I just don't know if it will work. I don't wNt jojo locked away while I'm working. But especially with another kid on the way, I HAVE TO get him out of the kitchen! Any suggestions? Sry to ask sdo many questions, I'm clue less on house ducks!

Hey, questions are awesome! Questions means you want to learn, and that's never bad. TBH it sounds like Jojo is alone most of the day if you're off at work and your husband isn't too keen on tending to his needs. Sooner or later he's gonna have to learn how to change that duck diaper, cuz he deserves to wander the house and not be penned up all day!

So you have a toddler to deal with too, huh? And a bun in the oven! Oof, I don't envy you. But at least you got a leg up on diaper changing, I had to learn about the joys of handling poop with no prior experience. :p Out of curiosity, do you have a place where you can board Jojo when the time comes and you have to go to the hospital?

Sorry for the triple-post, but you guys know how Wobbles LOVES to just stand and hang out in his carrier? Bean's doing the same thing! I'm a little concerned, sometimes he chases her out of it and she's been spending more and more time in there. I don't want her to pick that as her nest spot only to have to be chased off it by a jealous Wobs!

Quick. Get another one so they don't have to share.

I've got three of 'em, but they just really, really love this one in particular! Wobbles will walk right in and just stand there quacking happily for 20 minutes or longer, and the past several days Bean's been sneaking past Wobbles to go in there, herself. I really am starting to wonder if she's trying to make that her nest site.

Well, instead of just reading everyone elses stories, I too have a house duckling now! He wasn't supposed to be, but.... So this is Louis. He's a 3 week old saxony.
(Hopefully I learned to link correctly...)

@Amykins I live in a 1\2 duplex and as I said jojo is in the kitchen, but how my place is set up jojo can see everything from the kitchen. He is no blocked in at all, he canleave the kitchen anytime he wants, even when my husband is in charge, he just only walks around when his diaper us on, he's so good. I havent got a plan set upyet, I'm only 4.5 months pregnant, I got awhile. But spring/summer when we move into a bigger place, I will gladly get jojo company, I wish i could now. Ilove my little boy! He's one of my kids!

it is normal because over the years with various male zebra finches I've come up with these nicknames for them and it is only because 99% of the time they are all plumped out and round: potsticker, appetizer boy, little hors d'ouvre, tootsie roll, morsel. Then non edible labels: light bulb boy, you that suffers from chunkitis, fat little man. Then for Bit, it's dinosaur girl, pancakitoons, penciling cuz she can stretch tall and thin, baby girl. Endless...
