Show off your house ducks!

Not at all, it's wonderful that you're asking them! All too often people assume they know best, which can sometimes lead to tragic results. Baby birbs are so delicate, but just so cute and heart-touching. It's why we love our webfoots so dearly!

Speaking of webfoots, Wobbles hurt his leg. Poor bubba. I trimmed his nails and he's already on antibiotic for his eye; I suspect in the next couple days it'll straighten out but if not my sister has a trusted avian vet here in norcal. Look at me, I'm learning, hehe! A year ago I'd have gone into insta-panic mode!
Poor Wobs, is it something obvious or just that mysterious duck limp that you look over, find nothing and hope it goes away in a couple days (Dove is famous for that.) Oh and by the way... I have temporary house ducks for the next couple months so I can almost feel like I belong on this thread

Confession - last week, when Alba refused to return to her and Salem's private suite upstairs after spending her third afternoon with the flock outside, it was apparent that it was time for the temporary house ducks to join their sisters in the night pen.

I had some serious empty nest syndrome for a few days. I still listen for their morning chatter and look for their little faces when I get up in the morning. Then I see they're not there.... I know they are happier, much happier with the flock. But . . .

And every morning, when I go down to greet them and let them out, Alba and Salem are so very happy. They fit in well. Salem and Romy are now becoming friends, and Romy is even tolerant of Alba (day one, they had a little sumo wrestling match).

Alba and Salem still spend a good bit of time together. It's a beautiful flock. y'all.

Daisy and Daphne now go to their cage door and talks really loud so I will let them out to run around. I had no clue little ducklings were so smart at such a young age...I'm loving it :)

Yep, that's the one!! I'm not convinced that Dove doesn't do it for the attention, though, at least some of the time - I once had a cat notorious for that. :p I think he may have just hurt his widdle leg last night since I wasn't around and my mom put them to bed, he might have ried to fly out of his crate and landed on his side wrong or something. Just goes to prove how much they need me around. ._.

I'm sure Dove gets her little hurts from letting the entire flock (not all at the same time

) jump on her back like a little trampoline. Dove, Dove, Dove.... Today would have been day 3 of her latest limp, but she wasn't limping today.

...and you need them. You can do it Amykins.

Hi! I was poking around in here a long time ago with some questions about house ducks, and I wanted to thank those of you who answered me. I just ordered a set of duckling diapers from SewSammi for my future fawn and white runner hen! Hopefully she will like being in our family, I also have 3 house chickens and a duck loving husband who is doing his best to hide just excited about this he is.

I am in love with your darling babies on the tile floor. Their webs are perfect for it.
