I wouldn't know how to...I worry about shipping them. Have you done it before?

Hey just a little input on shipping. I've not shipped a duck, but we have had parrots shipped by plane from other states and it went well. You send them in a dog crate, airline approved. But the shipping fees are a bit up there. Last time I had a parrot flown here I think it was $99 but that has been a few years. But I have also heard of transport with truck drivers, they take care of the animal and drive in on their routes. Then they drop it off at the destination, I had a friend do this for a rescued parrot and it went very well. I think though it take a couple of days. But the truck driver was wonderful, he cared for the parrot very very well on the way. Good luck!

I've been crying all afternoon....I found a place for them to go, but it's an animal sanctuary and they're rather hands-off. So that means Wobbles won't get any snuggles, or hugs, or kisses....I don't know what to do. I don't have any other option. I can't afford to board them, and there's no one left to take them in. I can't get back up to Seattle. So...I guess this is it. :/ Tomorrow at 10:00 AM I have to say goodbye.

   I realize this is a long shot, but can you send/ship them to me or Rav?

I haven't shipped, but I have had birds shipped to me... they ship by weight, Express, I believe...

Well, two days after hatch day and one day after their precious sibling died, this morning four brothers or sisters were hatched

Any ideas on all their colors?

@Amykins I'm in San Diego ... Can I help? I cant give them a home, but I can help with the duck railroad.

(On a side note, if you're set on a sanctuary, the Gentle Barn is a great one just north of LA & they invite people out on the weekends to love on the animals.)

@learycow I think ships adult ducks. I'm sorry that I have no idea how it's done. Maybe a call to your local post office about their express service? I know they'd need that grow gel and a heat pack. If the duck railroad could get them somewhere near Kansas, Oklahoma or ideally Kansas City, I could come pick them up. I'm not working so funds are low, but I've definitely got the time.

I don't that many duck people in California. Probably best to post in the NorCal thread... Think there are a few there that would be good homes. Wish I could help, but I'm spread a little too thin right now.

Wait! Maybe @new 2 pfowl will have a suggestion! She's here in CA and I trust her 100%.
