Show off your house ducks!

I wouldn't know how to...I worry about shipping them. Have you done it before?
Hey just a little input on shipping. I've not shipped a duck, but we have had parrots shipped by plane from other states and it went well. You send them in a dog crate, airline approved. But the shipping fees are a bit up there. Last time I had a parrot flown here I think it was $99 but that has been a few years. But I have also heard of transport with truck drivers, they take care of the animal and drive in on their routes. Then they drop it off at the destination, I had a friend do this for a rescued parrot and it went very well. I think though it take a couple of days. But the truck driver was wonderful, he cared for the parrot very very well on the way. Good luck!

I just wanted to say I am so sorry for what you are going through!

I've been crying all afternoon....I found a place for them to go, but it's an animal sanctuary and they're rather hands-off. So that means Wobbles won't get any snuggles, or hugs, or kisses....I don't know what to do. I don't have any other option. I can't afford to board them, and there's no one left to take them in. I can't get back up to Seattle. So...I guess this is it. :/ Tomorrow at 10:00 AM I have to say goodbye.

:hit :hugs

:hugs    I realize this is a long shot, but can you send/ship them to me or Rav?

X2!!

I haven't shipped, but I have had birds shipped to me... they ship by weight, Express, I believe...

Well, two days after hatch day and one day after their precious sibling died, this morning four brothers or sisters were hatched :love

Any ideas on all their colors?

@Amykins I'm in San Diego ... Can I help? I cant give them a home, but I can help with the duck railroad.

(On a side note, if you're set on a sanctuary, the Gentle Barn is a great one just north of LA & they invite people out on the weekends to love on the animals.)

Will you have an opportunity to get them back if you find a place that will allow them and get situated?

@learycow I think ships adult ducks. I'm sorry that I have no idea how it's done. Maybe a call to your local post office about their express service? I know they'd need that grow gel and a heat pack. If the duck railroad could get them somewhere near Kansas, Oklahoma or ideally Kansas City, I could come pick them up. I'm not working so funds are low, but I've definitely got the time.

Right now it's about 5:30 a.m. on the west coast.... but if anyone can contact Amykins by email or text, please let her know I sent her a PM. Thanks.

@Amykins - I don't know what your usual rising time is, so I'm sending this on hoping it won't annoy you.

Yeah, I'm in Santa Rosa, near the Bay area. Oh please, if anyone out there knows someone around here that can take in two tiny house ducks... ._.

@casportpony Kathy, do you know anyone who might be willing to help? Just trying to think of something...

Otherwise, I was gonna ask if shipping (I know, not ideal) *might* be possible???

I don't that many duck people in California. Probably best to post in the NorCal thread... Think there are a few there that would be good homes. Wish I could help, but I'm spread a little too thin right now.

Wait! Maybe @new 2 pfowl will have a suggestion! She's here in CA and I trust her 100%.

I am standing by, if anyone can get ahold of @Amykins - we are at a distance, but have some ideas she may be interested in...

It's less than an hour to 10 a.m. Pacific Time.....
