Show off your house ducks!

You are so right, you never do know. You ended up with a gem of a little webbed bird. I hope he bonds too with the new one. Are you still looking at spring time? Would the newbie be another white like Wobs?

Nope, actually I'm getting chocolate call egs from 18angovem! Her birds are laying early this year!

Ugh, poor Wobbles...and poor me! He keeps trying to mate with my hands, and as a result not only is he frustrated but I'm positively covered in nicks and bruises.

We've tried to use duck toys, plushies, decoys, even just cover my hands in cloth to act as a buffer between me and his biting, but nothing works - he views them all as "rivals" and will attack.

Any advice? We're still having dismal luck getting a female companion for him.

Oh no, poor little boy bird. Hormones rule the world otherwise no living thing would be breathing upon it. So basically all your prospects for baby calls are super far from where you live? But other than that, he's still a sweetie isn't he?

Oh yeah, he's still my baby boy. I just didn't think he'd come into season this early, I thought I'd have more time. :/ My original breeder seems to have gone MIA and the only other breeder within driving distance only sells adult pairs. So my only option is to have eggs shipped cross-country. I hope Angovem can come through, but things don't look good. Poor guy. Poor duckies. :/

Good to hear Amykins. Wobbles is a neat little bird. I have been following this thread and it's nerve wracking even for me. Am really hoping Angovem and ducklet work out. Thank goodness for Lacrystol.
