that's adorable! Looks like a lot of work, but how fun! I had absurdly good luck and found some call duck eggs that are due in just a few days! I traded a few serama chicks for 3 eggs and gave them to ChaCha today. We'll see! Hopefully she'll have her very own little baby in a few days!I did not have a house duck, but I had my own brood of eleven day-olds. I had a spare bedroom - and I set up a brooder using puppy play pens, 6 mil plastic to protect the floor, and towels. The water management was about 70% - with what I know now, I'd make a watering station like I have in the basement pen, with mods for little ducklings instead of just the big water pot I use for adults. Due to a mixup, my ducklings arrived a month early, and it was a late spring, and they were indoors for three months. Yup. Three solid months. I covered the hallway in an old sheet and herded everyone out into the hallway (blocked the cats from the hallway during this time) while I did room service. It was work, but I knew it was not forever, and I have fun memories.![]()
