Show off your house ducks!

I wasn't advocating for this breeding attempt as it would probably take a couple thousand generations, just noting that it would be much faster than directly trying to breed out the mud gene since in order to breed in that direction you would have to find a pair of ducks that at a minimum weren't super enthusiastic about mixing dirt and water and since ducklings only pip with the goal of mixing all the earth's dirt and water into uniform mud + poop, that wouldn't really be possible. But if we were aiming for our clean duck, perhaps a scan of Jibby's genome and Wobbles' genome could give scientists the genes to combine to produce the first synthetic species of clean call-duck-like birb with a squeeeee rating of 11 on the 1-10 scale.

OMG, I love you. You should be a writer for a comedy. And you aptly used birb. A couple thousand generations is a long time.

I just read this again and am laughing out loud. Entertaining. I think we can accomplish this with Jibby and Wobbles. @Amykins are you on board?

And squeee, too….

Patsy Cline was crazy too and she did okay.

Us?! NAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

And all of this pretty much sums up why I'm a lurker here. Nope, I don't have a house duck. This is just the most entertaining thread I've encountered.

Well, Debs, that means you'll have to post cuz you are funny yourself. And it is a super funny thread. I laugh lots myself.

My lone hatch, tiny little Lady Grey house duck has graduated... even though she is not the oldest or the biggest, she IS the boss, lol... finally have my older Call boys, younger big girls, Lady Grey and Crash & Burn fully integrated in one happy flock... :)

Hoopoose, they all are so keyoot. Love that bitty Lady Grey is the boss. Does she still fly around the yard?

Ok and wow. I just tapped the top pic and it made the image bigger. Call ducks are tiny compared to regular sized ducks. How do you handle all that cute tinyness?

I have read what you guys have said about their size and all but this photo is very striking.

Then looking at it again, you see their webs: one foot in front of the other.

Oh geez I am nuts and obsessed. Please don't tell the police.
