I'm sorry to intrude on this post I dont know how to start one and this is the first one I came to about ducks

No need to be sorry, all are welcome here... looks like the end of the bill got smacked in something? Is that swelling on the top and is it getting bigger at all?

okay first use child safe neosporan and then it looks like u need to bandage it some how

Actually, air is better on an open wound I believe, a bandage can hold moisure in and encourage bacteria...

No problem. For proper attention you should try your own thread since most of the best helpers are looking for unanswered threads... If you are on this page click the start a new thread button-it is at the top and bottom of this page. The rest is just like what you did to make this post except you also enter a title.

I agree- probably no bandage - that would make it hard to eat and drink.

The swelling is on top and it seems to be the same, no change since it happened. My daughter was playing with the ducks when this one decided to fly and face planted the floor.

S/he should be ok then... just wanted to make sure that bruising wasn't more than it looked... just rinse it well and like Buck said, you can dab some Neosporan/antibiotic ointment and let it heal... just make sure the ointment does not have pain reliever and check the wound regularly and keep it clean as you can... I had a little Call get his bill stuck in the hatcher mesh and it looked awful, but it healed just fine... might 'scar' a bit, but being young the bill is pretty resilient... and a bit of advice, have your daughter play with them on the floor, maybe? They love to try to fly even with the little fluffy nubs, lol...

Edited for spelling... :/
