Show off your house ducks!

This is Zuzu...part mallard, part call. She is the most unique creature I have ever encountered!! She has no idea she is a duck. Hops up the stairs and sleeps under the bed!!!




Sleeping on the couch. She jumps up herself.



Here she is sleeping on one leg, balancing on MY leg.....




She laid her eggs, in our house.... in a Rubbermaid tub. She would jump in & out. She hatched them there too!!!



Unfortunately ZuZu is no longer with me. It has been months & I still can not really talk about it. I miss her terribly. She was like a child. MY child. Followed me everywhere. I woke up one morning to find her standing on my chest quacking at me.... it was time to go run around the yard and I was not moving fast enough! She drove my husband and daughter crazy, as ZuZu would literally chase after them, biting at their feet.

I guess this is my way to honor how special she was. I will never forget the impact she had on my life. Love ya Zu!!

I do have her babies. None are tame like she was. ZuZu hatched in an incubator. But none of the other eggs did from her clutch. That's how I ended up raising her. She was alone. My husband name her Zeus. Unzipped the egg in 30 mins. Mighty and powerful. Until she grew up and we heard the hen quack... then she became ZuZu instead.

She is beautiful. It just goes to show that love knows no boundaries. Our feathered and fur babies are forever embedded into our hearts and souls. I have a rescue Rouen that was struck by a car. She is fine now and once I catch her she's sweet as pie. Full of personality and natural curiosity. I have a young one too originally named basil, but I call her doodles. We ordered her from a hatchery to be a companion for Rosemary our rescue. She arrived 5 days old, but she is very sweet and has imprinted on me, but loves to hang with Rosemary too. This is a pic of them and my cats watching our new pet rat. They are captive audiences. Lol.

I'd totally love to swing by your place and cuddling one of your ducks. And I'd love to meet you, too and I'd EEEEEE/SQUEEEEE for sure. You may wanna cover your ears cuz it's kinda high pitched. LOL.

I am very very sorry you lost her. Just the pictures tell it all as to how special she was. I see her and could easily fall in love. The pictures of her under the bed are absolutely priceless. Thank you for sharing her and your story with us. Bless you and ZuZu. RIP, sweet girl.
