Show off your house ducks!

I haven't used any ointments on ducks but for my rabbits I have used calendula ointment (I think it's homeopathic? Or based on herbs/flowers), zinc ointment and my mum uses ointments for babies on them too

Luckily I don't have any experience with urine burn but I think these are good ointments for the skin.

Wow that is a long time to work on a diaper! The result is super nice.

I would love to have a house duck but my parents say no

Thank you! It was just the design that took that long, that particular diaper itself took a couple tries but I love it! Hopefully all my buddies will be sporting their own watermelon butts soon =P

Hi everyone..I have no idea how to work this website on my phone and find what I'm looking for, I'm hoping I found it here. I've been raising ducks my whole life but never inside..we live where ducks can't be left outside due to neibors living close. I recently did some reasearch on house ducks..We bought two day old babies. Avocado who is a pure mallard and Bernie who is a pure white and buff Indian runner. Tomorrow is a week sense we got them and they love it here and seem a lot happier then where I got them from. We only wanted to start with one but the buyer said we had to get two, is it easier to raise one duckling inside or would both be fine? I know all the care for ducks just need some advice about raising them inside. Thank you!!
Welcome welcome!
I agree with @RavynFallen about the double duckies. my gal ChaCha was most likely raised as a single duck and while I love that she loves me to death, it REALLY messed her up. She can't be around any ducks at ALL because she sees them all as enemies. She is 100% sure she is human, and only wants to be with her human flock. She is just barely learning to get along with our dog, but that's still a long work in progress. Being a "human" means that when we go off to work, she if forced to be alone without any flock to keep her company and protect her. This is very traumatic for a flock animal like her and she cries and quacks looking for us and I know it truly upsets her to be abandoned every day. Unless you plan to spend 24/7 with your ducky, raising them with a buddy is best for their mental health. I know there are some ducks out there that do just fine alone, but I wouldn't recommend attempting it, as more often than not you'll end up with a damaged mind like my poor gal ChaCha. We've been trying for years now to come up with a solution to her loneliness during the day and she just won't accept anything that isn't human - even eating her own babies when they hatched because all she saw were little invaders in her nest of human eggs =(
On a happier note - Congratulation son your new ducklings! They are absolutely darling!

ChaCha!!! I love you. You are so cute in your multi colored diaper. I love that you are posing on the chair. Your face is kissable.
Awww thanks! She's such a good little model. Her old chest is back at my mother in law's house so she wasn't quite sure WHY she was up on the chair. But she's learning to pose when she's set somewhere off the ground =P

Ha!!! I love it! ChaCha tries to sneak a sip when she rides in the car, but her carseat keeps her too high =P
What a handsome ducky you've got there! Keep up the adorable photos! We love them!

I'm super excited about raising this baby!! Nervous too, though. She's so small! Not that small birds are anything new to me, but she stood inside her tiniest diaper like it was going to swallow her whole! Adorable.

The serama roo in the beginning thinks he is her father. I'm sorry buddy, always saddling yourself with the adopted kids even though you only ever court blankets and slippers.

Their house in my bathroom. They are only 3 weeks so they still need the light. They have a nest box in the back.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEE - SHE IS SO CUTE. You kissed her. YAY. And, WOW, she is a natural climber. I loved her little webs on your hand. She a baby ducklet.

The rooster. So cute, too and funny how he courts blankets and slippers.

I loved the video.

OH MY WORD.  That is so cute.  Little study partners.  But how do you do it with them there?  They would be too distracting.  I'd be kissing and holding them and not working.

They usually settle down and sleeout in my lap. They normally would be wearing diapers but using a pee pee pads workso as they are still getting used to the diapers
