I don't know about them, they could be just as bad if not worse if they contain salt because chickens can die from to much salt

But a TON of people say it makes them better! And I've been given her cat food and she's even healthier now!

I know cat food makes them very ill and she's not 'ill' she's just properly tired and stressed from her moult, and all animals can die from too much salt

But we have this special cat food and I don't think it has salt, my chickens eat cat food and they're perfectly fine.

Is not the salt in cat food it's the types of acid used in most cat foods designed for cats

Wonder if it's taurine they are referring to?

I feed mine cheap dog kibble that's soaked in water several times a week, since the supply of fresh bugs has all but disappeared with the cooler weather. Cheap dog food is mostly made up of grains and such anyway, and does not contain taurine.
