What kind of comb does Wail-in' have? It looks like a Redcap.
That second picture ......... OH, that is some gorgeous color going on there!
Yes it does look like a Redcap but it just popped up actually his daddy is the little red roo HotRod the mother (a little black rosecomb) died while sitting on his, a brother and sisters egg. I found her the next morning dead and put them in the bator and they all three hatched. An owl got the little girl cause they insisted on sleeping about 30 ft up in a holly tree at night I could'nt get them to sleep in the coop or much less catch them to clip their wings. I got a pic of his full brother today will post it soon as I get around to editing a bunch. I have a pic of his other full sister from a brood before his, will post a pick of her and she's the spitting image of her mother. So Redcap no, just a redcap type comb the brother has a raspberry/strawberry half a rose comb look IDK its weird too esp coming from a single combed rooster and a rosed comb hen. here is the older sister:
Yeah that cream and almost mahogany is different for sure I have about 5 little pullets the same color. I'm going to mate him with those girls and see what magically appears from that. I have had about 5 of those cream/red boys this year pop up in my extensive barnyard breeding program
he just caught my eye a little more than the others did.
Jeff
Oh on the crele looking boy, well down here in the ol' deep south we call them(creles) Creole
I just figured crele would be something more folks on here could relate too. There's a lot of debate what "creole" means but coloquially it means mixed.
