Show off your Old English Game Bantams!!

I didn't know it was a blue

I'm as sure as I can be without seeing the actual bird. Looks like a blue with dark hackle and saddle. Blacks should always have that green "beetle" sheen as well. I've produced some very dark blues, much darker than that. You can tell them apart by that lack of green.

If your splash came from that line, you should produce some really nice blues. I'd still breed to him, you'll get 50% blue/50% splash.

Yeah they came from the same place, and yeah he's definitely going to be breed to my blue girls. And thanks I didn't know about the blacks a lot

He's got lots of tail which is something you want to see in your birds. I would breed him over my splash, and look for birds that with big tail, same dark hackle and saddle, and dark blue or even black lacing on the areas of lighter blue like the breast. I think that's called Andalusian Blue.

This is a painting, from the Standard I believe, but it shows what I'm talking about.

He's Also a bit bigger which I don't like that much, but yeah he's a pretty nice roo to breed my blue hens too

Got some birds out today. Sunshine has been in short supply around here.

Black rooster, protective but not aggressive. He hates the plastic scoop I feed from with a vengeance.
