It's baby day! So my chicken math has reached full blown insanity. I went to only get whatever female Oegb they had which turned out to be 3 of a mere 5 chicks. And you can't just buy 3 babies... so I got another rainbow of 13. Sebrights, frizzles, Cochins, japs... and one black silkie...

After yesterday's roo rehoming I'm at a head count of 26. And I'm brooding outdoors with the big kids to boot.


I think I've officially lost my mind.

Update.. Daisy laid a shell less egg this morning I believe it is because of her trauma yesterday. I fairly sure it's not her diet. I believe her system was interrupted. Since she laid soft she gets another day of indoors with me some electrolyte supplement and a little more calcium and protein to lessen her stress.

Out and about in the world! I only wish I'd caught it when one of these gals stood up to a pushy 7 week old Cochin! Well, for a moment until her smarts kicked back in...

My little girl already has babies!! 4 girls and two boys. Theres 5 eggs left on nest. Not sure if any are good but I put them under my other broody just in case. I'll candle later. Can't believe I didnt know! She was at my front door every morning but I thought she was sneaking out of eaves!!
