Aww, she's a good mama.I was told that sex links don't go broody very often. Here is my red sex link hen with 4 silkie chicks. This is her third time in less than a year.

Welcome! Hope your little one comes around. I am keeping my first rooster ever. I'm a little worried. Have heard of not so nice roosters, and that some are sweet roosters. I can't keep a mean rooster, I am crossing my fingers that he is sweet. He is just a cockerel for now, hasn't even crowed yet. He has a sweet face, but I know that doesn't mean he will be nice. I hope he will be.![]()
I have had many roosters over the years. I love them all. I had one that wasn't nice. I did finally get through to him that I was the alpha but that didn't pertain to other people. He finally went to an auction. Don't know if he was going to be a breeder or eaten.

The boys are fighting over her as they all want to mate with her. It is good that you separated her. I have many pens and try to put one male in each pen with some females. I do have a pen right now that has two males in with some females and the most I have had is three males in with many females, but generally I have just one male in each pen with some females.

Most Sex Links are either Red Sex-Links or Black Sex-Links. Red Sex-links are Golden Comet, Gold Star, or Cinnamon Queen or are simply called Red Sex-Links. It depends on the specific cross used. Red Sex-Links are produced by a number of different crosses.hmm... i just curios, what the different about production red between RSL..?
it's a sam breed or another kind name of RSL..?
I believe a Production Red is a RIR and New Hampshire cross (two red birds). A RSL (red sex-link) is a red roo and a white with barring or silver factor hen (one white bird and one red bird).
