Our chick Lucky, the only one who made it. She is 5 days old now She looks just like an SS chick except she is more red. She is a Speckled Sussex/ Red Sexlink.

I have had some hatch out with that chipmunk coloring too once in awhile. It will be interesting here too to see what she turns out looking like as far as her coloring. I hope you post progress pics.

Oh yes wasn't even thinking about body type. Wonder about egg production? My SS doesn't do very good with eggs. She lays about 4 eggs a week compared t my RSL who lay 6-7 a week. This will be an interesting expierment, thats for sure! I have more of the same cross in the incubator.

hmmmm... because AFAIK sussex is dual purpose, not bad for egg production, or conditionally just for light sussex..?

6-7 egss a week is a awesome! it means above 88-100% production capacity. what your ingridients feed for youur RSL..?
