Show off your roosters

If you want to keep him get them together ASAP. He is young enough to be fine with your other roo. If he grow up with him you shouldn't have any problems.
My husband friend is coming to get the roo and I will introduce the barred rock to the group and the roo that I already have ... His friend has 6 hens with no roo's and lives in the country his fee range so he will like that I hope ... The barred rock I hope will do ok with the flock and not miss the roo ... Each other is all they know :( ...

Who's rooster is better do you think? BTW my leghorns were great layers, but only lasted 1 year. Here is my Americana rooster.

Silkiecuddles, so sorry about Henry! How did that even happen? Chickens are so short, I've never heard of any thing like that...
He was a beautiful boy, and so are the rest of your boys! I love their names! I like fancy names, and used to have a silver partridge Silkie named Proffesor Puffy Pants...I'll have to see if I can find a pic of him

Thanks! It was at least a year ago. We had a huge storm and there was a heat lamp plugged up for some chicks I had at the time. The Lightning busted the bulb, went through the ground and somehow hit Henry and another rooster. The chicks were all perfectly fine, thankfully.

Yes, I like to name all my chickens and birds after people or plants!

Yes, I am too!

I had a heat lamp bust recently. It was on as well, and we had a hard rain. I guess the moral of both those stories is don't leave a heat lamp on during a rain!
I won't, from now on! I have two batches of babies coming soon, but they're all mama hatched, so they thankfully shouldn't need a heat lamp! But I usually have one on just in case...but if it rains, I'm unplugging it first thing!
I learn something new every day on this forum..
