Show off your roosters

He's beautiful! You had roosters before? I love ss's, and hope to get some soon! First I gotta downsize my Polish... :'(
oh yes, several throughout my years with chickens, which has left me with deep appreciation of a good one and zero tolerance for a bad roo.
It is a challenge when you want to go a new direction and have to change your flock up, we will be making changes between now and spring and won't have many of our existing hens when we're done. I've been on the prowl for ss for a bit now. ..they are such eye candy.

Lol, same! Currently the proud owner of 32 'good boys' and a 'bad boy' he's not gonna be here much longer if he doesn't get his act together!

We have a Speckled Sussex hen in our flock. She's probably my favorite hen, funny, friendly and smart. If he is anything like she is, you have a winner.

If I had been more experienced with the different breeds I would have probably went with getting at least 50% of our flock as Speckled Sussex and the other half in Orpingtons.

Ol Grey Mare… I love your new rooster. We ventured into the SS breed this spring with a couple of birds, I find them most attractive, though we don't have a fine rooster as do you. Regarding flock change ups, yes it is a difficult time for the owner to transition from one scheme to another. But you must please your inner eye if you wish to continue to enjoy the hobby.

My wife just got a new Brown Red Modern Game cockerel a week or so ago, I believe she calls him Ichabod Crane. Striking things with those long legs.

Best to all and your birds,

RJ

Beautiful rooster RJsorensen. That is one of the things that I love about BYC. Seeing pictures of all the different breeds and reading what people have to say about each unique bird.
