You should post a pic of him
Wow,that looks just like him.....so he is a EE?
Yea,I love all of the roosters you have.and I like the story of where you thought Zeus was a hen and he turned out to be a rooster...............Also where your salmon favorelle roo is it looks like you have a few pens beside each other, how does that work out???is there chickens in each pen and is the chickens ok with each other being beside each other???espacially the roosrers,do the roosters fight through the fence??I would say they would.sorry for all tthe questionschicken farmer:
Birdie-Num-Nums is a silkie, you are correct.
Zeus is a Mottled Houdan.
Walter is a Salmon Favorelle. Walter should have a fuller beard but a couple of the girls like to groom him a little too much and part of it is missing. In addition he is a "special needs bird" as he is slightly cross beaked and we have to trim him on occasion but he is the most curtious of the boys as far as treating the ladies well.

No problem on the questions. We actually have one mixed flock. The pens are actually connected to each other but we can close off part when we have new introductions to make. That way they get to know each other through the fence before they are turned in together. This has worked well so far. All of our roos are from the same hatch so they have grown up together. We did recently have a big battle for second spot between the Houdan and the silkie. The Fav is the undisputed top bird. Amazingly the silkie now has obtained the second spot and the Houdan will run from him.Yea,I love all of the roosters you have.and I like the story of where you thought Zeus was a hen and he turned out to be a rooster...............Also where your salmon favorelle roo is it looks like you have a few pens beside each other, how does that work out???is there chickens in each pen and is the chickens ok with each other being beside each other???espacially the roosrers,do the roosters fight through the fence??I would say they would.sorry for all tthe questions
Thanks, that helps out a lot.Im gonna build a pen beside the one I have now but its gonna be half the size of the pen I already have, and Im not shure what to do...Im wanting to use it for multiple things like for a breeding pen,for injured chickens to get well in,for pullets and cockrels so they can grow up to go to the big pen...or I was thinking of getting a small flock in that pen beside the one thats already there but i dont no.But it would b helpful to keep it empty till i need it for chicks/pullets or injured chickens. No problem on the questions.
