Show off your roosters

Here is my big boy. He was supposed to be buff brahma but I believe he is more likely a GL Cochin and Buff Brahma cross. Oh well he is good to the girls.

This view shows the lacing that makes me question his breeding.

Both of these Roosters are French Copper Marans. The top one was the start of the project to put more weight on the birds for use as a dual purpose breed. The bottom Rooster is the top ones Great great grandson.

No other breed used in this strain, just selective breeding with the biggest and best.

My rooster got frostbite.... I was even putting vaseline on his comb to help prevent it and he still go it. He has it on two tips of his comb, and he has a big spot of yellow on another part of his comb. I'm not sure if the yellow is frostebite or not. I'll see if I can post some pictures later. I know this isn't exactly the best thread, but I just wanted to share my sad news...

Those are some handsome roosters, and they look so big!
I'm terribly sorry:( It has been bitter cold out!! We are in VT and I can't remember it being as cold as it has been this last week.
It hasn't been this cold for us in a long time. About 6 years! Last week the temps got down to 8 degrees during the day, and -8 at night for four days! It''s no wonder he got frostbite. Thankfully it's not bad, but it's enough where it looks like it would be painful, only he doesn't seem to be in any pain. I still just can't believe how cold it got! It's supposed to start gradually warming up here in Michigan this week, so that should help my chickens warm up.
