Both of these Roosters are French Copper Marans. The top one was the start of the project to put more weight on the birds for use as a dual purpose breed. The bottom Rooster is the top ones Great great grandson.

No other breed used in this strain, just selective breeding with the biggest and best.
how much do they weigh?

This is Edgar, the Easter Egger
That's a gorgeous EE. Every time I've tried to raise an EE roo, they came out ugly, and I sold them on CL. Since roosters don't really contribute to their feed, I have a rule that they must fulfill three criteria: 1. Non-aggressive; 2. Decent genetics and 3. Eye candy!

It may have been a Rhode Island Red. I have two Rhode Island roosters, and they are the sweetest I have ever had. I have had about 7 different Rhode Island roosters, and 3 out of the seven were MEAN! I think all breeds of roosters you will get a mean tempered Rooster. You have about a 60% chance they will turn out mean, and 40% nice. That's just from my experience anyways. Also roosters under a year old go through an aggresive teenage stage, and that's perfectly normal. Once they are a year old they either grow out of the mean teenager stage, or they get worse. I haven't really ever found a way to make a rooster sweet tempered. It really just depends on the rooster.

Other people may have different opinions or they may disagree with me, but this is from my personal experience with roosters.
