This is one of my favorite pictures.
This is the younger of our two roos, a SLW. In this photo he is only about 15 weeks.
He is definitely not the dominant roo, but he keeps his eye on the hens he claims as his.
The other roo we have is a beautiful Australorp. I don't have a good picture of him, yet.

He is beautiful ! I have a question,are the hens darker than roosters? Another website a lady says she has a rooster she wants too give away, but it looks like 100 % hen to me! the hen was dark, The lady says it was crowing,

The females do have much darker feathers. At least in my experience. I got six of them in the spring and 5 of them turned out to be roosters..
