I am super sad to say that today, our RIR free ranging rooster got snatched up today around noon. we have no idea what had taken him, and we are all so very sad. he was still growing all of his feathers in and was beginning to look very beautiful. Sadly, he didn't not live a long life, and was only 7 months old. yesterday I realized he actually began his spurs!!! he was super healthy, but I'm sure in a better place above.

Again with the chicken math!

This time I went to pick up some 'free eatin' roosters' and wound up coming home with this fella to boot!

I weighed him when I got him home. 18 pounds! His name was Goliath when I got him and I see no reason to change it! He's a RIR/Brown Leghorn cross

About recommendations I can help but it would help if you told the following(what breed of hens you have,do you want a bantam or large fowl, free range/pen or both, any other roosters? and anything else you want to add

I have 2 roosters, Russell Crow "orphinton" and Cody "banton. They are both great roosters and couldn't choose which one is more important to the flock as Russell is a defender and food finder to the ladies but Cody Is an excellent cheerleader when it comes to the hens laying eggs. He is very encouraging, he clucks and crows and carries on "such a drama king" lol I always know when one of my hens has laid an egg, thanks to Cody.
