hi Kidcody,

are you still breeding and selling spangled orpingtons? I am looking for chicks and thought perhaps you are still breeding them today?

Sheila
Hi Shelia, Yes, Our farm is sill breeding top quality English Orpingtons, We have several pens of different colors of English Orpingtons, but like most breeding farms we do have a waiting list, as we do not just sell any chicks, we wait until they mature (around 3-5) months of age to meet our standard to make sure we are selling quality, not quantity, like most farms. Thank you for asking

"The Accidental Rooster" It sounds like a great movie title! I have one of those, too. Herman the House Rooster started out as "Irma," after the storm he hatched during. (S)he already answered to Irma when (s)he started crowing, so we found something that sounded close enough for him to recognize. So Herman knows his name ... he just has no clue that he is a chicken.

Roopecca started out as Repecca of course. His brother Marvin was crowing and sporting male feathers at least 5 weeks before Roopecca. Everyone was thouroughly convinced this was a pullet...until he crowed. From that point on he started looking different taking on male appearance. And attitude!

This is my buddy colonel, I got him and three others 1 yr ago. My son brought them home because someone from his school was gonna kill them. ( the boy got them free for buying some ducks) anyhoo poor guy his family got killed by a fox and he was the lone survivor. I know he’s lonely, it’s been a month. But I’ve just got to wait one more week and I’m getting him two girls he can protect and feel all dominant and stuff. Lol. Plus I’m getting like twenty chicks tomorrow. But since his family has been gone he follows me everywhere. I let him in a lot. I freeze outside most of the day just to hang with him. I forgot to mention that I’ve never dealt with chicken before this colonel came along. Matter of fact I hadn’t even been around them before. But I tell ya what I sure love him. Well that’s a little of our story.
