I made one has a halfway house to get my chicks out of the bathtub and out side until they are big enough to go in with my bigger chickens. They are bantams, this thing is about 3ft high.
It didn't cost me a thing, most of it was left over from my other coop.
3 sheets of old dry rotted plywood, painted to keep bugs out.
milk crate lined with left over square tile pieces from when I redid the hallway.
took apart 2 rabbit cages for the wire, I liked them because they had the "gate" opening. (found them under the house)
Parts of dry rotted pallets for the ramp.
shoe box for the bottom nest, painted.
Branches for perches.
My coop made from recycled material and spare parts. This coop cost less then $20 to build, only cost me the price of screws. Not bad for my first coop. lol
I bought the wood, had the mesh... it's 5x8 and I plan to keep 4 hens in there... but they will also be let out.
I have a few more pieces of trim to put on and I'm callin it done... Gettin some chicks Sat.
