Out of curiosity, member Denali, I'm wondering if that is your name or if you just picked it off the map? The reason I ask is because my sister's name is Denali! The nest boxes (buckets) are great! I like that.

I'm not sure if these are innovative but this is the design we used for next boxes. We may add an additional strip of wood across the fronts, later. We're planning on hay for bedding.

I was at the building recycle center yesterday and there were these two high 10 long sqaure cubby things that would have made amazing nestboxes! I just don't have that many hens, so dh wouldn't let me buy them

My nesting box's are simply just a couple of milk crates with the fronts cut off and a lip to keep the eggs in. I attached them to the walls of my coop and put a board over the top.

We removed a window and hung ours in the window frame. It has a human access door on the outside, and hinged doors on the inside:
