Sorry, no pic here. But I use pallets stacked on each other. Works great. I pull them out and scrape them off in the fall. It goes straight to the garden.

Your barn sounds wonderful too.... I want a barn.... (we just have a run-in shed for our horses right now - a barn would make spending time with them (esp at night and in bad weather) much nicer....)

Wow, I continued to be shocked and impressed by how informative the poop threads are. Whoever posted the link of the pictures of the poop - that was extremely helpful. I was wondering if I had a problem when I saw a yellowy mess of chicken puddled poo on the ground the other day, but the picture said it was normal every few poos. Whew!

And the poopy pits - especially the tupperware picture - I'm getting all sorts of great ideas for my next coop project. Thank you everyone!!

Hi Guys

here's my ( I mean, my chickens) poopy spot.

Nothing fancy. The whole center part lifts up ( I have to remove the roosts obviously..) and leans against the windo. I just pick out the worst of it every once and a while and add some litter. ( Deep litter method)
I am constantly thinking of ways to improve it ( my first time with chickens) and will probably modify this spring. But it works pretty good right now.
