Show us your snowy coops!

Im here in Connecticut. This was taken a couple of days ago before this last storm we just got. Last night we had more snow
and rain which made it very heavy snow. Went to snowblow today and that wasnt even doing anything. Thank God I scraped all
the snow that was on my chicken coop off-it was already sagging on the outside hardware cloth roof. Lots of roofs on buildings
around CT have been caving in because of the weight. Cant wait till spring!!!

I discovered that my coop isn't as tight as I thought it was (during the blizzard).

Yes, that's snow on the supporting 2x4 that drifted in from the top of the coop. It is snow on the wall, too, not frost.

And down by the people door and on the perch for the nest box

This is the coop from our patio. The drift across the driveway was 2.5 feet tall.

This is me trying to clean off the top of the run so it doesn't cave in...

Our coop and run under all that snow...

Tarps kept most of the snow out of the run, had to shovel it out just a little. The snow is piled up to the top of the sides of the run now but it blocks the wind and keeps them warmer I think...

The pine trees you see in the foreground are now bowed down to about three feet from the ground. Please please please let there be spring soon.

I took this before I went to the coop this morning so the step in front of the door hasn't been shoveled off yet. As you can see, the snow slides off the galvanized roofing and kind of hangs past the eaves. On the other side is the pathway to the pop door, I keep knocking the overhang off so it doesn't come down on my head as I walk by. Not that it makes much difference, the chickens don't want to come out anyway.

We currently have about 2.5 feet of snow on the ground, most of which has come--like last night's--and inch or two at a time since January 2nd when the ground was bare. I think our biggest one-day snowfall may have been 4 inches.

I've got to shovel off the coop and run as we're expected to get another Nor'easter this Saturday so figured I should take a pic.

Thank you....that was a very thick old door I rescued from our basement. I had to rebuild it as it was rotted where it had sat on the floor but it works just great.
