Show worthy?

I have not started yet. Am about to.
When do you start 4H?
Just be patient, find out the scoop on local shows,
then look for some birds to fit best with the local shows requirements.
You may be able to show the birds you already have.

Old hens are over a year old.
Young hens are under a year old.
Well, not really.

FYI.....semantics, maybe, but can be important communication terms when discussing chicken behavior.

Female chickens are called pullets until one year of age, then they are called hens.

Male chickens are called cockerels until one year of age, then they are called cocks(or cockbirds or roosters).

Age in weeks or months is always a good thing to note.

They are called that when signing up for shows, which was confusing to me at first which is why I explained it.
I guess most of the time they call it young female and old female but not always.

Ahh...I did not know that.
Might be different at different shows....is that a 4H standard?
