Here's my flock: 3 RIR; 1 EE (that's the abbreviation for Easter Egger, right?), 1 Cockoo Maran, 1 showgirl -- all hens. They have a nice 2 level "condo" - upper level is all enclosed hen house, lower level is wire and open to the ground. They free range around the yard almost every day - for 6+ hours. I rarely make them stay in - only when we will be gone all day. They have Layer Crumbles, Oyster Shell Calcium and a couple of handfuls of scratch, maybe every other day.
The little Showgirl, I have had since MINIMUM Sept '09, and I was given to believe she was already mostly grown. I thought, "it's getting to be winter, she probably won't lay til Spring." Well, Spring has Sprung (I'm in So Cal) and everyone else is laying eggs, etc. but none from her.
So ... are there any known issues with Showgirls? And ... is it possible that she will never lay eggs? anything I can do with (or for) her (besides freezer camp, she's too small!! LOL!!) to help her along?
Thanks!
