Yes, but I figured the NN roo would give me an almost "instant" flock of Nn SGs. I'd keep some of the girls for only breeding Silkies too.

true and most people always have extra roosters i know i have 2

I have my silkie boy over an NN girl. I chose the NN girls because I thought an NN roo would be a bit big for a silkie girl and maybe injuring her.

And YES! I know! Jesse is the reason I ordered SG eggs!

I will post some pics of the fuzz butts when they hatch! Good to know that using an NN boy over a silkie girl is not too much for her.

Was just wondering about the frizzle gene, does it work the same way as the naked neck gene? So either they are frizzled or not, or do you have normal feathered birds that can carry the gene? As I am going to frizzle and beard some of my SG's. PS I bought a really nice little partridge silkie hen yesterday..... she is awesome, plus a younger white bearded pullet!!

yes frizzle is like naked neck if bird dosent showit dosent carry it

Sorry so late on this post. The local Library had a photo contest , a penny vote just for fun, so I decided to pose my first pair of showgirls and enter. I use food coloring (not easy) this was a long time ago..
