Showgirl thread- for posting pictures and discussing breed!

She is so sweet, I am really liking this pretty lady! I have one that is the same coloring exactly, but no beard

I super love her though, her hairdo is so crazy I can't see her eyes, will try to get a pic. She is going in with my paint roo in the Spring, along with a black frizzle, and a pretty white silkie to get some babies !
My paint roo throws nearly all paint babies though, he has been with my partridge colored NN turken, and every single baby is paint, so not sure if he will allow any partridge colored babies to get through with my partridge SG. Can't wait to find out

Thanks

I just love her too. This was before she was all grown up and she is even fluffier now. I should do another photo shoot with her

Her silkie sisters have already started to lay and I can't wait for her to start! I have 2 beautiful white silkie roos that I will pair them all with. I just ordered a mini coop for them all and will house and breed them this spring, can't wait for more fuzzy babies.

I only know if and when they develop a comb. If they don't I know if they crow or lay an egg. Streamer less showgirls are the toughest.

Do you have hatch mates? How puffy is the crest in comparison? The crest is vaugly pullet like but I would not commit.

There's a paint showgirl from that batch that already has good-sized wattles, definitely a boy. Do the black-from-paint birds develop more slowly, generally? My showgirls tend to blossom much later than hatch mates that are Silkie.

Looks female to me. Wattles should have developed more by now if male, and the roundness of the crest usually is feminine. However, things vary from individual to individual. I definitely lean toward pullet.
