I've heard from a buch of people that you can actually show your chickens. I think it would be really cool for my family and I to do but I don't know of any places. Does anybody know of any chicken shows that are in Massachusetts? If so what are they on and what do I have to do? Thanks for your help!

Perhaps if you contact your local Extention Services to see if they recognise any Poultry clubs or even 4-H clubs if you have a family with kids 9-18 (I believe), it is a wonderful group to learn in.
Also contact chickn on BYC, she may have some awsome ideas for you, for example she has compiled Chickenstocks, shows and events. Your local livestock auction place and the Fairground association.
Once you get "in" with the chicken people, get asking questions and you will be lead in the correct direction. Hope I have given you some suggestions. Good luck and happy showing when you find the right place.

There are no more shows in MA this year, but Jan 17-18 there is a huge one in W. Springfield. Here's their site: http://www.poultrycongress.com/

I
can look and see if I can find a list of show in the area for next year. Where in MA are you?

It's a really great show, and is the largest in the northeast.

What breeds do you raise?

If you guys are near The Big E (Eastern states) there is going to be a huge poultry show. It was mentioned recently, they must have a site and it may be worth while!
I am on the hunt (you can find these online) for a APA Standards (American Poultry Association's book of standards) which teach you what your breed needs to bred into etc. It is expensive but I did find a PDF online book. It was interesting! Good luck and keep us posted on what you are doing!

For Lilpeeps my information for you is I live in Eastern Massachusetts and I have 2 Whyandott hens, 2 Partridge Rock hens, and 2 Auracana hens. By the way thanks for all your help!
