I’ve raised chickens all my life for egg laying, but this year when I bought a new flock (got rid of previous due to moving where they weren’t allowed but now moved again to a place they are allowed) I got a show line pullet. I intend on showing, but I have no idea what I’d need to do?
Does she need to be certified? If so, certified by what, and how would that be done?
Would she need a bill of health like a dog?
How would I enter a show? What do shows entail?
What age would my chick have to be before showing?
Does she need vaccines? I’ve heard of a few for chickens, but I’ve never actually bought vaccinated birds or vaccinated them in my life?
As you can see, I know absolutely nothing about showing chickens, so any information would help!
Info about my chick (Incase that matters)
She is a Mille Fleur Belgian D’uccle bantam
She is 8 weeks now
She is from a line of chickens that have one first place at shows for years
Also, I am in Connecticut (incase it varies state by state)
