I had out of town guests last night. the two kids wanted to see my chickens. so we all went out when it was time for lock up. They were all in the crate already but I managed toget one of my silkies out - much to his dismay. He perched himself on my arm let everybody pet him. He even perched on one of the girls arms. However, when it was time to go in, he wouldn't get himself off my arm - I had to push him off!!!

it sounds like my little hen. She loves to be held. I think she is a bantam bantam, lol. She is about 9 weeks and only the size of a softball (bot including neck) with a golfball head. SheI belive is polish and silke, anyways I am going off at a tangent here so...

my silkies, especially the male, will put up some kind of resistance to being caught but usually once they are, they'll perch. Its like they have to show some sort of resisitance to keep their chicken credibility.

I know exatly what you mean, lol.

This is the conversation my other hen has...

Oh look here comes mommy, oh wait I am a chicken, so I have to do chicken things, I will go up to her and right when shes going to grab me I will RUN and run and run and than when she gets the treats I will go over and get some and than let her get me, muwhahaha!!!!
