2 many roosters in the hen house.

I seriously doubt it would have made any difference whether she acclimated him to the flock with 5 roosters in it already. No method of management works with all roosters all of the time especially if you're keeping roosters with hens.Even roosters that get along will fight sometimes

I'm very sad today. I had to re-home my 7 month old roo that I hatched from egg. The problem was, I already had a 19 month old rooster from a prior hatch. Hatched him from egg too and he was the dominant one (obviously). I only have 6 hens and I cannot free range due to predators. I have a rollable coop so they get fresh ground daily. The dominant roo would not allow the younger one to crow, would not let him mate the hens and would never let him partake in the scraps I would put out. As of recent, he began chasing him around the coop to where he had to perch 90% of the day. I found a lady 3 miles from me that had a free range flock of 150 chickens and only 5 roosters, so she took him in. As soon as I dropped him off, he started battling it out with one of her roosters. I feel so bad for having to give him away, but I thought it was what was best for my flock. Opinions? Can someone make me feel better?
You said the place you took him was free range so there is nothing to worry about. He was just trying to establish himself in the flock. If he was in danger he would run away from the other rooster (specifically in a free range setting) I have 5 roosters with 35 hens free ranging. As long as they have room to run away during a fight, they will be okay. Your baby will be super happy with that many hens, that might even be why he got extra worked up when you dropped him off there.

I understand I have a RIR that the neighbor gave me as a chick along with a lavender Orpington and a white rooster (not sure the breed on that one) and 4 hens. The RIR lashed out on my lavender Orpington really bad. I currently only have 9 hens and 8 of them hang out with the lavender Orpington. They are just now starting to lay again since I have gotten all the hens with the Orpington. All roosters and some hens are around 2 or 3 years old. Unfortunately, I have to give the RIR away. I will be getting more hens when it warms up a bit more.
