I was wondering what shampoo or soap do you use to wash your ducks and chickens with for showing. I'm not sure to buy a show shampoo or just use dawn dish soap. Thanks!

Everybody's got their own special set up. Back in the day we always used the baby laundry soap (Dreft--something like that).

We use Ivory or goats milk soap, a diluted vinegar rinse, final rinse with diluted glycrine or a fine spritz of olive oil, finished at the show with a touch of Pinks and a silk cloth polish.

I've heard of people using tide with bleach alternative for white birds.

You name it people have used it I think. As long as it's not too caustic, and you rinse it all off, and keep them warm while they dry you should be ok. I think it takes some trial and error to accomodate your water and the birds type of feathering.

I'm sure the treatment for Cornish is very different from Silkies.
