Wife just hard boiled some eggs maybe at most 3 weeks old, we've done older, and a majority of the eggs have these spots in the whites. I've seen blood spots in yolks before not a biggy, but this isn't like that.

It's hard like a pepper corn but flat. Might be blood but in 4 years have never seen this before.

Thanks

Here’s what I’ve heard.
At least one of my chickens throws these occasionally. Some people say it gets worked out in the early months of laying but my experience is that it has persisted into the second season of laying.

They might be what’s called “meat spots”.
Harmless bits of internal tissue that get picked up along the way in the egg factory.
not attractive to look at though.
When the eggs are raw you can flick it out gently before cooking the egg.
You don’t see it in commercial eggs because they get rejected in the inspection process.

Interesting, I recall something about "meat spots". Will have to reread that subject.

Some of those could be from my 3 year olds. The majority of the flock is now turning 17 months.

Perfectly fine to eat, just a mild 'yuck' factor. That's a blood spot, just a mild glitch in the system. Here is more info: https://www.theprairiehomestead.com/2013/02/what-are-those-spots-in-my-farm-fresh-eggs.html
I read that article, thanks that answered my post! I will go out on a limb and say that those spots are not related to feed issues as I have been using the same brand for 4 years and this just started doing this. My flock has 17 month Olds and 1 two year old and 4 three year old and 1 four year old. So since they all have been laying for at least a year I also think it is an age issue and it's either the RR's or Australorps.

Has anyone that has all one bread of RR or Australorps had this issue?

I also have these in my new Hampshires eggs....makes it to where I can't sell eggs bc people think they r bad...we eat then and don't have a problem w it...but it would be nice to know what they r....and w mine...it isn't every once in a while...its pretty much daily....

Yes they're meat or blood spots. They're usually in the whites but can be on the surface of the yolk too. One of my hens has them in about 90% of her eggs so I never hard boil her eggs, too much work digging them out.
