Shredded Feathers? Please help!!!

Okay. Can I also put some in a big pan of something and kind of sprinkle it on them that way?
Also, I got the DE today and the lady at the feed store said that they can also eat it. Another person on here said that it isn't good for them to breath it. Can they eat it? I can post a picture later today, but I was hoping to dust her later this afternoon. :)

Yes, they can and will eat it....when you dust them, try to work it down to the skin...you can use wood ashes as well, but since you have DE use it...also could put some in their favorite dust bath holes.....might want to change out the nesting material and put neem oil on the roosts etc. if it's really a problem.

Thanks so much for all the help. I think I'm gonna dust her this afternoon. Maybe put some in their food and sprinkle it in the dustbaths. It's not a real big problem, and I recently moved them into a new warm coop for the winter so everything is new and freshly built. Also, she laid an egg today, can we eat it? Or will it be effected by whatever she has?

Oh okay, thanks. :) I just dusted her, and she stills seems a little white after she shook herself off. I tried as best I could to get under to the skin. Will the 'shredded' feathers re-grow or will new ones come in, or will just nothing happen at all? Thanks so much for all the help!!
