I have put shredded paper from my home office in the brooder. I haven't gotten to the store for pine shavings. Does anyone know a reason I shouldn't use this? The chicks seem ok so far. They are about 2 1/5 years old. I don't want to mess things up!

I had to use shredded paper towels in my brooder when my feed store ran out of shavings. I've heard that shredded paper with print on it can make the chicks dirty, like newspaper or whatever, but other than that I've never heard that it can hurt them.

I had to use some shredded newspaper today- had nothing else to use and too many kids to go to the store without losing my mind.I'll let you know how it works out.,BTW silicon caulk did repair the crack in the bottom of a gallon waterer fine
