My wife generates a large amount of shredded paper and I used the last of my pine bark
so I decided to use it only temporary but it appears to work just great, it seems to suck the moisture out of the poop and is easy to rake out when time to clean and there is an unlimited supply. No odor and my girls don't appear to be inclined to eat it, any comments would be appreciated.

I'm looking forward to hearing the comments - I'm thinking about lining our nesting boxes with shredded documents (using sand for the itty bitty coop floor).

I don't have my chickens yet (5/17/14) but, I do use the paper for rabbit bedding. Used it off on for three years without a problem need to clean it more often be careful of staples. Some say that glossy is no good not use printed items from china. USA companies use mostly soy based inks do cost of deposing heavy metals. Goggle dyi cat litter (like we all have time) show you how mix with water dry it for finer fluffier product.

Shredded paper is great to use. It will break down faster than pretty much anything else, so you'll need to add more more often than with most other beddings, but that sounds like it's not a problem for you.
