Shrink wrapped ducks?? What should I do?

I believe ALHMAMA egg just shadowed today, so technically we could have waited one more day to see if he makes his own hole.. But I believe he's already past the due date, so it won't hurt him to do it a little earlier...

But we could have waited until tomorrow to see if he makes his own..

24 hours from shadowing and awhile to come out, yep I had one that took 48 hours. They aren't quit like chickens chickens act like they are on steroids, and boom boom boom they are out in a matter of hours, ducks well they like to take there time.

You know they have to make sure there fluffy fur is comb and in the right spot, they TRIM there nails, even paint them, put on ALLL that make up and there's a lot... Base coating after base coating...

Everything has to be perfect.... Then boom here I am. Like a sexy lady out of a birthday cake..

Sorry about all the questions, but I am actually taking information from this thread and putting it into a document. Many teachers in our district hatch eggs and do not have info they need to do it correctly. I have always been fortunate( until this year) to have successful hatches. But My friend did a "hatch/swap"..she did chicks and another did ducks. Well, that other teacher with ducks intervened where he shouldn't have and they lost a LOT of their hatchlings

I was soooo angry, because even with the little I have learned hatching in the classroom, I know that it is a process that the chicks/ducklings need to go through. Hoping if teachers have a guideline and some basic info..this can be avoided in the future!!!
