Just cleaned under him a little and I'm pretty sure those are spider veins.. A bit of the membrane tore right off under his beak. No veins there at all

I have a waterer tip that works really well with ducks. Take the plastic reusable container that lunchmeat comes in (red lidded ones work especially well) and cut two rectangles on either side of the lid that are just big enough for beaks and part of the head to go in. Put the container in without the lid and let them find it. Then put the lid on with a little water on the lid. They will immediately start dabbling on the lid and find the holes. Wa La. No mess waterer. As they get bigger cut the holes a little bigger and use deeper container. Mine went from a refill every two hours and constantly wet bedding even when placed on a wire covered container to one filling a day. Just watch to make sure that the holes aren't big enough for them to get into.
