Our second time hatching chicks, the first time went super well with 4/5 hatch rate. So far there are 12 chicks hatched and running around since 1am yesterday, 15 unhatched. the incubator will not let us manually turn the humidity up, and seems to be stuck at 44% . On day 3 for some reason, I assume It reset when we tried to turn the humidity up days ago. Unsure of what to do here and feeling bad because obviously we're beginners and messed up along the way somewhere. It is a second hand sailnovo brand. This chick has been this way since 7pm last night and it is now almost 12 pm noon. Do we need to open the incubator to intervene?? Is it shrink wrapped? We can see chick in the egg breathing

Found the humidity problem, we used well water ( 🤦‍♀️ ) not distilled water and the tubing has buildup in it , is it possible to change as theyre hatching or is the damage already done and irreversible 😫

Just bring the humidity up up bit for those still hatching. Manually add water with sponges if needed. It is tough to tell from the picture why the chick didn't pop out. If it was shrink wrapped it would not fluff up. Once a chick starts to zip and stalls it can be assisted.

Do you have tips for assisting?

You can peel the white membrane part back a bit to free the head if it's under there. Do it carefully in a humid room like a bathroom with running shower steam. If you see any blood stop immediately, put some coconut oil on the membrane and place back in the incubator. It worked well for a few stuck chicks I've had in the past.
