Shrinkwrapped pipped at wrong end egg

Humidity is fine in the bator I just took it out of the bator and it happened >< So it is indeed my fault. The face is not shrinkwrapped.

Ack, no touchie! learn to knit, or juggle or type, keep hands off.

Almost reported you OOPS lol they need to move that button! I am trying to keep the bator closed.

If you have to open the bator, are you using the hot water trick? heat up a cup of water in the microwave till it's tea- hot (115 seconds), use that to add water (and steam) to move up humidity (this is a must in the desert).

No I didn't know about that trick. But I can't open the bator until these pippers pop out... I got 2 pippin and rockin. They are fighting to get out, the breech is still breathing and is wiggling around in the egg sticking its beak out.

If it can breath, you should have time to wait and see if it gets out on its own now. Mine was days after all the others hatched. I was cleaning out the incubator and heard peeping from what I assumed was a no hatch egg. When I turned it upside down I saw the pip and dried membrane. No blood, she had probably been pipped for a long time. Poor thing was really stuck in the curled position for hours even after I got her out.

I don't know if there is anything bad for chicks in poweraid?? Probably best to wait and see how strong it is after hatching. If it looks good and strong I would let it be. Or just offer sugar water drops.

Keep us posted.

It seems to be really strong so far. I might just give it the night. And just let the other 2 finish their hatching.

He seems on the runty side... Will he most likely not make it??? Aka eyes aren't open and he is curled up wiggling every so often.

I don't know. Can't remember ever seeing a chick hatched with closed eyes. Keep him in the incubator nice and warm. Time will tell. If no one else is hatching you could try the drop of sugar water. Don't get it in his nostrils, just a tiny drop on the side of his beak. Poor thing is proably worn out. He may perk up after a nap.

I have 2 pips so I am going to let him rest. I am 90% sure it is yolk I saw I picked him up and it was right were yolk should be and the same color. So if the others hatch before we go to bed/if we go to bed then I will take them out so they don't pick on him. Then I will do some sugar water.
